GLOBAL FRAUD & ASSET RECOVERY
A favorable judgment is only valuable if it can be enforced. Florentina assists clients in recognizing, enforcing, and defending against domestic and foreign judgments, helping them convert court decisions into meaningful recoveries while navigating the procedural and jurisdictional challenges that often arise in cross-border matters.
Florentina's practice includes advising on the recognition of foreign money judgments under applicable state law, post-judgment discovery, asset identification, execution strategies, liens, garnishments, and other available enforcement remedies. In matters involving international disputes, Florentina has coordinate multi-jurisdictional enforcement actions with foreign counsel to develop enforcement strategies across multiple jurisdictions, address issues of jurisdiction and due process, and evaluate the impact of treaties, reciprocal enforcement regimes, and local laws on the recognition and collection process.
Florentina also represents clients seeking to resist recognition or enforcement of judgments on grounds such as lack of jurisdiction, inadequate notice, fraud, public policy, or other applicable defenses.
Florentina advises not only judgment creditors or debtors, but also litigation funders evaluating potential investments and other private investors requiring legal analysis of litigation risks and potential outcomes.
Florentina is a member of the International Bar Association's Asset Recovery Section.
